Microneedling vs. Laser - Which One Is For You?

I guess the real important question is this: Which one of these treatments would you prefer?

Obviously, to be able to choose what is best for you - first, we need to create some clarity around these awesome Aesthetic tools & procedures, right?

Laser is a general term for light being emitted onto the skin to restore and rejuvenate. Microneedling is a form of exfoliation.

So which one is best?
The truth is, they are both great treatments.

Here is the thing: you need to identify what is actually happening with your skin. Most people will come in with one concern. Maybe they have concerns with fine lines or a few brown spots they inherited within time. This is normal and very important to take care of what the eye sees.

However, if there is one problem, you are likely to have others that are just not identified. For example, if someone is concerned with the brown spots (also known as hyperpigmentation) within their face, it is likely they have redness and other vascular issues, and/or in need of a deep purge of their skin impurities (exfoliation) of their face.

Microneedling can be very helpful for a little surface revamps of the skin.

However, if the skin has major sun damage or shows signs of aging, then a laser, using different modalities to achieve a comprehensive approach, should be considered.

Take the example of cleaning a house. In order to clean a house, you wouldn't just polish the furniture and call it a day would you? You have to purge the trash, vacuum the carpet, disinfect the counters and restructure the placement of furniture at times.

The same goes for aged skin. You have to address different levels of the skin with a variety of laser lights that enter within different levels in the skin.

Lasers are not created equal. There are variable filters and lights to transmit light within the skin and penetrate just enough energy to tackle different impurities such as hyperpigmentations, redness, needs of exfoliates, and more.

This will in return, give you a more comprehensive result that will have you looking so refreshed. And isn't that what we are all looking for? To look great in the skin we are in?

Bottom line: microneedling is great. It just may be the only thing you need. Find a good provider who can help you dissect what your needs are. Or you can learn how to identify your own needs and crack the code on Aging Gracefully.

Have a wonderful day!
